Who We Are

About Us

The Iowa Adventure Pass (IAP) is a collaborative program that gives Iowa library cardholders free or discounted access to a variety of cultural and educational attractions, including museums, zoos, gardens, and more.

Established in 2017, the program began with 11 libraries in the Des Moines metro area and a partnership with Blank Park Zoo. Since then, it has expanded statewide, with more than 70 participating libraries and 17 destination attractions.

Our Mission

Iowa Adventure Pass seeks to empower Iowa communities to explore, learn, and grow by removing barriers to cultural engagement. The program supports educational outcomes, strengthens families, and deepens connections between local institutions and the public.

Looking Ahead

To ensure long-term sustainability and growth, Iowa Adventure Pass is seeking to shift to a flexible, partnership-based model. Participating destinations can offer customized benefits—such as free admission on select days or exclusive discounts. This approach reduces costs for libraries while providing destinations with valuable exposure, new patrons, and stronger ties to communities through their public libraries.
